Ibanez AEL20 Acoustic Electric Guitar. First we’ll start off with the electric/acoustic out of the group, since it’s the only one we included in the this compilation. Everyone should have an acoustic guitar in their arsenal, right? The Ibanez AEL20 is one of the best electric/acoustic guitars that money can buy, and rightfully so, with it‘s modest price. This guitar boasts some nice features, with its SST preamp, Fishman Sonicore pickup and Onboard tuner. Ibanez didn’t slouch with the quality of wood either, it delivers a sensational quality of sound from its maple back and sides and flamed maple top. When amplified, the guitar produces the “twang and full bass but not as boomy as a Dreadnaught”.

The fast neck is complimented from its 24 jumbo frets. Did we mention this guitar is built with the top-of-the-line hardware? The C1 Classis boasts Grover Tuners, TonesPro locking bridge and Seymour Duncan hum buckers (JB at the bridge, SH-2N Jazz pickup at the neck). Valley Arts Guitars Brent Mason Signature Custom Pro Guitar
http://bit.ly/
Valley Arts Guitars Brent Mason Signature Custom Pro - Brent Mason collaborated with Valley Arts on this amazing-sounding guitar, which is based on the 1968 Fender Telecaster that Mason has used for years. The Brent Mason Signature Custom Pro features a mini-humbucker in the neck slot, plus Duncans in the middle and bridge positions.
Valley Arts Guitars Brent Mason Signature Custom Pro Electric Guitar at a Glance:
- Signature features
- An eye-catching guitar
- Great intonation, big neck
- Amazing tonal range
Signature features
The Brent Mason Signature Custom Pro is based on the Joe-Glaser-modified 1968 Fender Telecaster that Mason has used on countless sessions for the last 15-plus years. The Signature's most notable features are its Gibson mini-humbucker in the neck position, Duncan Hot Stack for Strat humbucker in the middle slot, and Duncan Classic Stack for Tele humbucker at the bridge. A separate volume control allows the middle pickup to be blended in with the other pickups. The Signature Custom Pro also has a push-pull function on the tone control that activates a coil tap on the middle pickup.
An eye-catching guitar
Cosmetically, the Brent Mason Signature Custom Pro is a unique blend of disparate elements. The silver body and black pickguard go great together, and the matching headstock is a nice touch. A mix of chrome-, gold-, and nickel-plated hardware, a "vintage" toned neck, and, of all things, a red pickup complete this eye-catching guitar. The Signature Custom's big neck feels great, the large frets are smoothly rendered, and the neck joint is ultra snug.
Great intonation, big neck
The Brent Mason Signature Custom Pro is intonated well, courtesy of its six-saddle bridge. Those who favor huge necks will absolutely flip over the girth of the Signature's gloss-finished model. You might want to try before you buy if your hands are really small, but average-sized hands will love the feel of this neck.
Amazing tonal range
The Signature Custom's passive electronics yield a fascinating range of tones. The basic idea of the pickup and wiring scheme is to deliver classic Tele spank, but with bigger neck-pickup tones and a whole lot of additional sounds in between. That's exactly what the Signature Custom does, and now players can benefit.

DBZguitars: Anatomy of a Rockstar - Dean Zelinsky
http://bit.ly/ EgoTv recently had the pleasure of meeting Dean Zelinsky and doing a really cool video interview with the godfather, himself. Scroll down to watch this exclusive video interview.
Brief Background of DBZguitars:
Dean Zelinsky debuted his original line of guitars during the West Coast NAMM show back in 1977. He was only a 19 year old rocker at the time; with a passion for guitars. However, the guitars Zelinksy wanted to play simply were not being made by anyone. His solution was to build the revolutionary guitar himself. His ideal guitar was something that were more radical looking.
Today, we have the advantage of technology. With computerized routers, literally anything imaginable can be built – no limitations. DBZ Guitars, founded by Dean Zelinsky along with his partners Jeff Diamant and Terry Martin, is the melding of his past 30 plus years of guitar making with modern day technology. DBZgutiars, like no other guitar company, are uniquely using this technology to take the guitar to the next level. Visit DBZguitars at: dbzguitars.com

Hamer Newport and Newport Pro Hollowbody Guitar
http://bit.ly/
Hamer’s Newport Series hollowbody guitars feature an ivoroid-bound Honduras mahogany neck and body and a hand-carved, arched spruce top with two f-holes. Newport guitars also feature two Hamer Phat Cat single-coil pickups, which are hand-built in Seymour Duncan’s custom shop. The Phat Cat’s wide-shape allows players to switch to a humbucking pickup without having to alter the pickup cavity. Newport guitars come stock with Tune-O-matic bridge, Bigsby vibrato, Grover Super Rotomatic tuners and Transparent Orange Sparkle finish. The Newport Pro has the same features as the Newport except for two Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups and a Tune-O-Matic brige with a stop tailpiece. List Price: Newport and Newport Pro, $1,999. (prices were dated in 1999) - Gear Search
[% oiopub-banner-3-left %]---------------------------------------------------------------
The Original Newport
The original Newport is fitted with Phat Cat single coils which were the result of a collaboration with my friend Seymour Duncan. Conceived as a crossover guitar in 1999, the spruce-topped Newport was the first guitar to receive a perfect score in a Guitar Player magazine review. Since then we’ve been busy configuring the Newport in different ways—adding binding, carved backs, custom inlays and experimenting with alternative pickup choices.
Shown above is a wonderful custom example. Notice how the highly figured top and layered binding contrasts against the stark ebony fingerboard with its single inlay signature.

Epiphone Les Paul Studio Chameleon Guitar Review
Like a classic Les Paul, the Les Paul Studio Chameleon comes with a pair of humbuckers (Alnico Classic HBs) and features a set in mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboards, 22 frets and a 24 ¾ -inch scale. However, the mahogany body boasts a metallic iridescent finish that changes color depending on how the light hits it, just like those cool, custom paint jobs you see on hot rods and custom Harleys. Just because it’s a low-cost guitar doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice flash and style!
Elsewhere the cosmetics are stripped down: the fingerboard has dot inlays; there is no pickguard, pickup covers or binding: and kidney bean-shaped Grover tuners replace the fancier Kluson tulip-style pegs. But with features like speed knobs and a chrome-plated stop tailpiece and Tune-O-Matic bridge, the Les Paul Studio Chameleon still offers plenty of visual and high performance appeal.
The neck has a Sixties-style profile that offers ample heft for preserving tone but still feels slim and fast, just like a good Les Paul should. In fact, if you were to play this guitar blindfold, you’d probably think you were playing one of Gibson’s more expensive models
Thanks to its fat mahogany body and humbuckers, this guitar sounds like an extra-beefy SG with less bit than a maple-topped Les Paul. It produces ample warmth and sustain, with just the right amount of darkness for brutal metal rhythm playing. The midrange is as thick and meaty as Britney’s postpartum paunch, the bass is big and beefy and the treble is razor sharp, yet full and well defined.
Spending less money on a guitar often feels like a compromise, but with its eye-catching looks and ear-pleasing tone, the Epiphone Les Paul Studio Chameleon feels more like an upgrade.

LMG 'T' Guitar - Liquid Metal Guitar at NAMM
http://bit.ly/ NAMM -Liquid Metal Guitars have been making heads turn with their unique metal-bodied guitars for a while now. And now, LMG (Liquid Metal Guitars) has unveiled their latest rock and roll machine, simply dubbed the 'T'.
The 'T' is a Telecaster-style guitar that is cut from a solid piece of aircraft aluminum, giving the guitar not only a unique look, but also an extremely clear tone that ranges from the traditional Tele-style twang to a full, warm sound. The 'T' incorporates the unique physics of the solid aluminum body with a P92 neck pickup and a more traditional, yet over-wound, telecaster bridge pickup. The LMG 'T' also protects its awesome aluminum finish with a layer of automotive clear coat.
"As with all of our guitars we do things that are unique to metal, what we do can't be duplicated in wood or plastic" says Phil Cook, the owner of Liquid Metal Guitars.
According to Phil Cook, "this is our homage to that guitar [the Telecaster] with our secrets blended seamlessly in to make it something very familiar yet unique and exceptional."
The LMG “T” is the third model in the company's line of aluminum bodied guitars.
With the through the body string guides are, as well, a contiguous feature of the body that enhances the clearness of sound.
“We worked again with Lindy Fralin on this guitar and have taken his traditional telecaster style bridge pickup, over wound it 15%, to take advantage of the aluminum body’s physics and matched that with a P92 on the neck. This gives the guitar a fantastic range of sound from the unmistakable Tele twang of the bridge pick up to the beautiful full body warmth of the neck.”
“We created our own ashtray bridge, using GRAPHTECH saddles, that is again integral with the body and we have an updated easy to play neck with an 8% headstock angle and GRAPHTECH nut design to keep the strings where the should be.”
Phil Cook says ” Every knows the Tele this is our homage to that guitar with our secrets blended seamlessly in to make it something very familiar yet unique and exceptional.” Come and see their guitars for yourself at the 2009 NAMM Show located at DR Handmade Strings Booth , # 4184
The Liquid Metal Guitar Company is based in Vancouver, B.C.
For more information on the Liquid Metal Guitar Company Contact Phil Cook at: 604-719-1403 or tphilip@liquidmetalguitars.com or visit their official website at liquidmetalguitars.com
The LMG 'T' carries a MSRP of $2995, and would be a great addition to any serious player's collection.
